This replica coin or token seems to picture a form of minitar on the front with the letters CEAA and appears to have a horse or something like that on the back with the word COPY at the bottom.  It is about the size of a U.S. quarter.  I'm thinking this could be a replica of an ancient Greek or Roman coin but am not sure.  Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks for any info.

stringfrenzy;

Hi, I think those may be ancient Greek letters and the last 2 (3?) are not necessarily A... could be L or G, they look like an upside down  V. I am not familiar with ancient Greek, but there is a similarity to some Cyrillic letters, which is related. The inscription looks familiar.

C = S

It could very well say CEAL = seal, and no, that is not a Spanish bull, as in Pamplona!

Not necessarily a copy of a Greek coin, it could be a copy of a Cretan coin and I see 5 letters, the last one is nearly obliterated. perhaps it says CRETE?? It is really hard to judge.

The coin base appears to be zinc or pot metal and has a yellow electroplate, perhaps gold. (And NO, you cant smoke pot metal.)

What ever it is, its interesting, even a copy of interesting.

An after thought... It may be commemorating Jason... there is a female figure, with 2 horses, which may represent the fabled TASKs.
