A BRT is almost like an LRT.

It's close to an RRT but easier to identify Wink

hmm...to me a BRT means - Be Right There...LRT means Look Right There....RRT isa Rail road track.

Now, I haven't been medal detecting long, some maybe your acronyms are different than mine Smiley

Definitely and RT, but I'm thinking more like a NSBRT although I can tell for sure it isn't an LRT.

All I can say is I'm pretty sure I've never seen this exact type so I would classify it as a Non typical BRT.  Round About
I think Bit has this one. Great

Now that we did that it still looks a bearing Coupler or U-Joint with those insets.

I've seen Flecks joints that had rubber somewhat like that.

Try Big Rusty Thing, Little Rusty Thing, Not So Big Rusty Thing.   All used to designate a  rusty piece of metal that you really haven't got a clue what it is---usually because it is one piece of a much larger and more complicated whole.  Like trying to figure out what a nut went to when you don't even have the bolt that went with it.

Someone who just happens to work in the field where these items were used MIGHT know what they are, but even then it might be a long shot if they are late 19th century or early 20th century and the person has only worked with late 20th century, early 21st century pieces and hasn't had to dis-assemble them down to their individual components.
