This is a 2 1/2 inch medallion, unknown composition.  I did not dig this I found it in my late mother's belongings.  It says HerefordShire and also has some latin "Pro Patria Vigil Ans"  I am curious of its origin.  My dad was in the navy in wwII and made several trips to England.

A bit more information on it......this would have been for the signals squadron attached to the Hererfordshire Light Infantry

You are awesome!  Several years ago I contacted a "Bobby" in Herefordshire who tried to help me with no luck.  After that I gave up.

If your dad is deceased, you can request his military record from Veteran's Affairs and see if there is any paperwork that covers his award. It's a fascinating journey you have begun.
