Hi there,

we discussed this find in the german forums already but didn?t came to any solution what it could be.

The find is 1,3 x 1,5 cm, and it?s made out of bronze. The small "points" are surely made by hand. The signs on the find.....no idea what this could be ? Arabic numbers ? Perhaps hebrew ??

The find was made on a field with only mediaval finds between 12th and 15th century.

Perhaps does someone here has an idea or does know what we have here ?

MrSimpson;

Could these be runic letters? Which were different between the Scandinavian, mainland Europe and the Anglo-Saxon  area rune usage.

I believe there was even some difference within areas and eras.

How about a 'seal' stone from a ring.

@golddigger
many thanks, that?s a very good idea. I will have a look at the different runes today, perhaps i will find someting similar.

A seal stone.... mmhhh... possible but i think its a little too big for a ring Idea

MrSimpson;

We need some standing suggestions for  contributors to include an object, to which a person can auto-relate size...

Actually, 1.3 X 1.5 cm is not that big, 2.5 cm might be considered over-sized, for a ring. I had a ring with an 1.0 X 1.5 cm piece of jade, made it myself, for a commercial ring blank.

It could represent the gods who use to walk among us.  The snake is one of the oldest symbols of hu-mans on this planet.

These three styilized walking snakes are symbols representing the ancient gods of early man.  The symbols surrounding the 3 snakes could be snake eggs that are hatching.
