I believe Xavier might be right. If the depression at the back is threaded, that would be for the dart feathers. See if the tip has a hole that is filled up now where the point would have gone.

I think you got it.
I clean a bit better the hole at the back and you can just see the thread.
I also pay more attention to the tip. You can just see where the point was. There is a small peace of iron in it. Test it with a magnet and sticks to it.

Hi Nick,
Its a dart mate I haven't kept any of mine mainly because they went into the scrap as "identified" and scrap value only, I think many of us find at least one dart in our detecting lifetime.
