Go Up Go Down

This isn't something I found, but my mother found back in the 1930's. She found it in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I don't have any more information then its 1 1/4 " wide by 4 " long. I tried a while back and was told its probably wood lands era. Just wondering if anyone here can figure out anything more.

Use your imagination.

It's large enough to have been used as a Knife.

Yet it looks like the Tang could have been broken off used as a Lance point.

Never take a Archaeologists  word as Gospel,  There only guessing too.

I thought about it being a knife also. Just not sure. It looks to me like it may have been reshaped on the edges. And might have been wider at one time. Not sure though.

Just a Laughing Point, Ha PUN!

Did you know the best scalpels made to date are not as sharp as some Stone Tools made 1000 years ago?

good point there.   many pieces were re-worked from other tools/purposes when they got broken.
