This coin is part of a found cache. I have to state that most of the other coins in the cache have been positively identified as FAKE. I guess counterfeiting has a long history, and I do not expect this coin to be genuine as well (but I'm hoping it's not fake!). Can any Japanese coin expert tell me if it's real or not?
It has been cleaned with Brasso
Weight is 32.3 grams
Diameter is slightly over 40 mm.
