Mystery find.

(1/1)

PaulC115:
I found this in a long time grass field near a stream in Balderstone UK.
I think it is a brooch but opinion differs some think it more likely to be a purse bar (and with the rope motif) possibly date to the Tudors.
All comments gratefully accepted.

The bar seems to be bronze and the rope work seems to be gilded.

Thanks.

Be nice to see...any luck on photos? Photobucket is a good hosting site....at least till you run out of room and have to pay for more.

GD’s software works very well for re-sizing photos.
Can be found in the download section of the forum.

I usually drop them into the Paint program  where I can either reduce them by % or by Pixel size. Also allows to keep the horizontal/ vertical ratio or not. Also you can save it in different formats.  I usually use Jpg. Pretty good for a program that is already on my computer and is free. GD's program is good too.
