Hi, Tiger...
I lived in Portland OR for 13 years, and moved recently.  Meier & Frank was a home grown, very UPSCALE retailer of drygoods.  Portland was not its only retail outlet.

Macy's has acquired Meier & Frank in the recent past, thus its name is no longer called Meier & Frank.  The store is still in Downtown PDX.

What you have is a trade token, and I bet it is a nice one.  Just a couple streets down from the flagship Meier & Frank was a private mint.  I suspect Portland Mint just down the street minted those trade tokens for Meier & Frank.

Portland Mint I believe is now known as Pacific Gold.  I do not know if they anylonger do custom minting business.  They formerly made all the Rose Festival Silver and Bronze tokens for each May's Rose Festival--Portland is known as the Rose City.

Pacific Gold Inc - 0.3 miles S - 308 SW Alder St, Portland, 97204 - (503) 224-1650

Alder Gold - 0.4 miles S - 121 SW Morrison St # 127, Portland, 97204 - (503) 222-3492

Affordable Jewelry & Precious - 0.3 miles S - 304 SW Washington St, Portland, 97204 - (503) 227-465

You might be able to learn more about your token by contacting a coin club in Portland, and asking their assistance, or one of the coin dealers still in business there.  Not many dealers carry exonumia items, however, that would be the way I would go if I was trying to determine a value.

Good Luck in your research.

Megan Rose
