I found this at an old house site in Hanford, Ca. At the same site I found a 1934 Walking Liberty Half, other coins from the 1930s-1940s and a FDR Commemorative token. The item seems to have an image in the center piece, which I belive is quartz. The bottom is not threaded, so it doesn't appear to have been attached to anything. Any help identify he item would be appreciated. No body in my treasure hunting club has been able to indentify the item. Please see attached photos. Thanks for your help.

Tswita, wish I could help, but I have no idea! Very interesting object.  Pure speculation: top of a perfume bottle?  Does it look like it might sit on a bottle and possibly seal it?

I would also be interested in seeing pictures of your coins and Roosevelt commemorative.

Cool find.  Hope you find out what it is!             Detecting

Thanks for your help. Suppose it could be a perfume bottle top, but there are no threads in bottom. I'll take a photo of the other things I found there and post them.

if the knurled part is attached, internally threaded, it could be the retaining nut for a ceiling light globe.

It is very small. See attached photo with ruler along side:-)

It is not internally threaded and there seems to be no way to attach it to anything.

It is possible that this is a topper to a flag pole.
In the past, flag poles were much more popular than today.
I wonder what a google search might find.  I will let y'all know. HH Robroy59

Looking at it again, it is too small for a flagpole topper, the smaller flagpoles
are 1 inch in diameter, which makes this too small for that purpose.
Btw, the top to a flagpole is also called a finial, your word lesson for the day.

Wolfy's right, it is a great find and would be a ringer for the staff of Ra   Shocked
