went detecting for a while today and dug a few  whatsits. can't figure what this would have been used for.

Looks like a lantern hanger it is placed on a low cut off tree branch and a camp lantern  hung from it . Can you date the site?

this is an area that I have found civil war relics, the house that sit in the field was around 125 years old i was told by land owner.

That is a hook off a whippletree.

That's some cool old finds.  I like finding things that been used on livestock, it lets us not only see but feel where we come from.  Me anyway I come from farmers.

 Detecting That is a hook that goes on your trace chains that hooks to your collar on your mule it is a piece of mule gear i have a bunch of them makes a good hook to skin your catfish on if you don't have a mule happy hunting
