Go Up Go Down

Dug this at late 1860's farm house at 4" on 03/22/10, San Joaquin Valley California.
Can anyone ID this for me? With my limited experience searching (Google), I found Texas Star buttons but nothing like this one. It appears to be quite old.

No problem, I enjoy looking up old military equipment, items, insignias, etc. Glad to help.

Got to be something that any Texan would covet.

Any other finds at the site?

A lot of goodies have been found there through the years by myself and many others. It is a well known MDing site for sure. John Freemont is rumored to have stopped by area many times early in the exploration of California. A natural river crossing is not far from this place.
Thanks for the reply.

Yea it might be but in the SW Deserts you can see the old trails plain as day...almost impossible to spot from thew ground!
