Hey everyone,

A month ago in my backyard I found a button that i am assuming is a military button.

It's got an eagle on an anchor.  it's looking to the left.  There are stars going around the outside of the button.  i think there are 13, but I don't remember.  I am at work now and don't have it on me.  There's also 3 cannonballs stacked under the anchor.  The background of the button has horizontal lines on it.  The back of the button has one round opening for attaching it to fabric.  The back is very corroded/rusted, so I can't see any maker info.

I've seen very similar buttons, however, most have a diagonal line at the top of the anchor, and mine is a vertical line.  So buttons I've seen look like l--/---} and mine looks like l--l---}

I am going to try and get a photo on here tomorrow.

Any thoughts?

Luke

It sounds like a navy button, but it could just as easily be a civilian knock-off (always a popular item).    We'll definitely need  to see the pictures.
