I have found what looks to be the middle part of a pretty old ring. Looks somewaht creepy. Unfortunately I have no idea aboout its condition and how old it is. Any thoughts are most welcome. Thank you!

I found it right on the Bavarian mainland so I would have thought it to be of Bavarian origin? Doc, have you seen some Viking examples that look similar to it? If yes, could maybe please post some pictures? A very interesting hint! If it was a Viking ring this sure would be one of my most unique finds! Thanks for the suggestion.
