all,

found this in ABOUT 6" dirt on friends property in georgia. looks like front side of lock, which had used a skeleton key to unlock, on the inside it has the number 203 and the letter R on it...thanks folks...gregg

glad ot be back, gonnab e doing alot of thunting in the georgia area , civil war, indian areas on friends properties.....gregg

thanks, been busy with work, and stuff like that and ran out of good spots but a friend of ours who lives in georgia has given us a plethera of locations, and her daughter in law is also now buying a detector thanks to me digging on their property..lol....

Hi Gregg, I'm a Locksmith, and it looks like you have the lock to a hope chest or luggage chest there. I could tell for sure with closer more detailed pictures, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I make keys for those types of locks. Smiley Good Find. Jim.

What part of Georgia are you hunting in?  I'm up in North georgia in the gold veins, so if you're close maybe we can get together and swing a coil.
