Hi all, sorry it has been a while. crazy busy working. so this small stone bead was found on the same beach as the 1800's Harrison and reform button in Essex Ma.
the beach has been a clam digging site since forever as well as a brick making site and so on. all kind of pottery shards and stuff come uotta there all the time but the button and this are by far the two coolest items yet. the bead is now pitted by sand erossion but my question is could it be native american ? and what kind of stone, I am pretty sure it is stone not ceramic or other. thanks all Jimby

Do you think it's possible that it could have been a piece of pottery that's been ground down over the years of being on the beach ?

Hi, Jimby!  Good to hear from you.  It does look like glass to me, too.  It sure is a beautiful color anyway!

so the question now is this beach is not a swimming beach, never was just a small outlet for clamming  and was always a workers beach can this be an early period say 1800's item?

Grin, thats okay cause this is a way cool find for me to own as it was a gift from my friend the clam digger who also gave me the old button. both items are now on display in the curio cabinet. peace to you all and happy hunting.
