Bronze today is mostly copper and brass but other metals were alloyed in ancient times.

You can identify an unknown substance by measuring its density and comparing your result to a list of known densities

The oxide on the surface is green and dark green grey... So the copper is part of the composition for sure. As GD as pointed out the alloys in ancient times are different from today. I think the metal refinary technique too was different... So from mineral from different mines you get a different product... Metal minerale are often mixed togheter . Example Lead with silver wich romans know very well... Or copper and tin .. I will classify this piece as "bronze" in general.

Look into finding a piece of unglazed ceramic tile and do a streak test to see what the composition is. Use Google to see the results for different metals. In an amalgam, which bronze is, all components will leave different streaks on the ceramic. Or, if you can afford it, have a gas chromatograph test done. That will break down the elemental compounds quite definitively.
