 ah yes another one of my mystery items this coin is dated 1697. it is silver and I believe it is a German state grosch.
 but I cant verify what state .can you all help?

That's because the 3 pfennig piece you pulled for comparison is from a different mint.  MB is Breh, not Oppeln.   Try this one which IS from Oppeln

So my question now is how do I find out what a 1697  3 Pfenning from the Oppeln mint is worth in this shape? and should I clean it?
