Since this is an older topic, this may not be seen or of interest anymore. The 'ring thingy' in the second picture kinda reminds me of a ring worn by someone to pick up magazines that ties with twine. As old as it is, this probably not right; but I used to see a man that brought into the store where I worked and had one similar.
