Go Up Go Down

Attached are vids and pics of a Tribal Relic during my trip to Upper Loreto,Agusa del Sur last july 26/09. We journeyed there in the hope of finding WF box as tipped by my informant believed to be in the position of Tribal Folks.After travelling for 6 hours,2 of that in very rough and muddy road we reached our target but much to our dismay,no box in sight. Instead the natives told us that before we go back to where we came from its better to
make a wish to their mountain idol for a safe trip.

Out of curiousity, I took videos and pics yet I dont understand the shape it represents . I was told they found these inside a cave deep in the mountains and they said it brings them good luck and good harvest.

Im just sharing it w/ you.  Do you know what is this?

emeri2;

Actually very simple.  Great

I have seen an ancient photo, of the Whaler's Wash House, a native whale-hunters ceremonial place, on Vancouver Island, THAT was extremely elaborate. The first time I ever saw it, and some of the strange objects, therein.... the hair on the back of my neck, stood up, and I got shivers. It doesn't exist, any more, the artifacts were "stolen," and are in various museums.

Then there is the Tsimsi Dala, I think it is Hopi, not sure, that looks like 2 sticks, but FEELs weird. Very UN-elaborate, but more complex than stalagmite.

The object, in the photo, reminds me of ancient, fertility goddess, carvings, found all over the 'Old World.' Wise

Mamut (or one of its derivatives) is the fertility representation of a woman in so many languages that it seems to have a common origin.

GoldDigger1950;

Same with ma and pa variations.

Cree, a local native language, has nikawe for mother, but there is a ma- form as well.

 stalagmite (from the Greek stalagma ("Σταλαγμίτης"), "drop" or "drip") is a type of speleothem that rises from the floor of a limestone cave due to the dripping of mineralized solutions and the deposition of calcium carbonate. The corresponding formation on the ceiling of a cave is known as a stalactite. If these formations grow together, the result is known as a column.

When touring caves with stalactites and stalagmites you might be requested to not touch the rock formations. This is generally because the formation is considered to still be growing and forming. Since the rock buildup is formed by minerals solidifying out of the water solution onto the old surface, skin oils can disturb where the mineral water will cling, thus affecting the growth of the formation. Oils and dirt from the hands can also stain the formation and change its colour permanently.

Stalagmites can also form in lava tubes, although the mechanism of formation is much different. Stalactites and stalagmites can also form on concrete ceilings and floors, although they form much more rapidly there than in the natural cave environment.

outback;

Right! Professor! Teach, did you know some native cultures revere the underground as being connected with the "Underworld." Called shibalba, by Aztecan speaking people, or some form of it. The farther north the culture, the less reverence... you can see the connection.

What puzzles me is why they brought it up from underground, unless they are nominal Christians trying to revive a culture.

The fat cave-goddess shape is unmistakable.  Great
