I don't have an idea specifically.

But, that said, for buttons and other relics, I oftentimes consult auction catalogues.  Have you thought about that?

Early American History Auctions have had buttons from time to time. I keep all of their quarterlies for reference purposes (also Scots hard copy, and Heritage, Stack's online.) 

I believe the yearly subscription for EAHA catalogs are $95 USD.  They are gratis if you purchase an item of theirs on ebay or by winning one of their auctions.

give us some time, and we may come up with some answers.   The members have a pretty good track record of identifying buttons and other stuff (though it sometimes takes a while).
