this is one of three coins from a bid that I won and this one I have no clue.
they were sold one at a time from "grampa's coin collection . I paid $5.00 bucks for this
one. thanks for looking and hope some one can help. Jimby

Geesh..parts look Roman or Byzantine....the shield reeks of spain...LOL...good find...looks silver.

thanks for reply its most likely brass my camera gave it that shiny silver lookcould be copper but definatly not silver Embarrassed

Not Roman, or Byzantine.  It could very easily be Spanish (or at least a copy of a Spanish coin).  The designs on both the obverse and reverse are very similar to the designs on to Record ID: IOW-F28953 on this page :

Thanks BA, I knew I could count on you! I am glad it was only five bucks, by the way the other two coins are chinese and moroccan.
