this was part of my flea market finds from this weekend , I paid a dollar for it . you know me if its odd I want it.
 I just dont have a clue to what it is. Although it is kinda awesome looking though.
next was this amber cup, also a dollar any clues? thanks junk dawer jimby

that is what I thought , but a local glousta salty said no . he was coast gaurd not fisherman .. the net tools where longer and have a barb in them . from what I am told.
one thought was a spindle base for fire starting with bow

I like that thought Xman, although living here in one of the oldest fishing communitys one the northshore none of my sailing or fishing friends have yet knew what it is.

Hi Jimby

I had another look at the photo that you posted and it sure looks like marine ply, see the hole in the center,  it's counter sunk meaning that there was a screw in the center of that piece to allow it to swivel.  It could have been used to close something.
