I would NOT put my foot in a stirrup that was that light-weight.    And if you're leaning towards a "corroded, distorted" stirrup the same thing could be said for a wiffletree.

Being 7 in long don't see it as a stirrup sorry.  Part of a whiffletree or a block and tackle maybe

Yeah My foot pretty much covers the whole thing, no way it would fold around and have room for a foot to fit in, the round parts are about half an inch thick and the flat portion is about 3/16 in the portion that isnt rusted away.
