Hello Wezzie!

I would say that what we see here are images of Greek origin. My first thought was that it is relating to the journeys and adventures of Odyseus - however that is just a guess at best.

I would want to think that it is not made of silver judging from your pictures but I can't tell for sure.

How old do you think that it is? I would have guess about 15 - 100 years?

A very unique find! I hope we can bring some light into its past.

Do you have any idea how it may have come into your garden Huh?

Best wishes,

Christian

Others have mentioned it being of Greek origin. I have done the magnet test on it and it doesn't stick but, I would think that if it was silver, it would of had a marking on it.
I can't pinpoint the age of it however, I live on a farm that is 150 to 200 years old apparently. Our farm was the first to come to this area. When I say Garden, It was in where we have turned part of the field into our vegtable garden. So, originally, it was part of the field.
There was was a log home built on this land there is no longer there. I only found this out a few days ago. Can't wait to detect it once the crop comes off.
With the fields being ploughed yearly, who knows where it was originally lost.
It is lightweight Dean.
I thought about it being a childs play necklace but, You'd think it would have pictures geared towards a child and not what you see here in this case.
I didn't think of the journeys and adventures of Odyseus. I'll try to do some research on that.

Thanks for your thoughts Christian & Dean
and you too Owl ( Funny Guy)  Grin

Christian said "My first thought was that it is relating to the journeys and adventures of Odyseus."  I agree it looks like the tale of Odyseus.  Very Cool Find

Didn't Hercules have some trials to go through?  There are eight pics on this ?medalion.  How many trials did Hercules have?  Was a precious stone in the middle at one time?  What a fun mystery to unravel.  Too bad the area wasn't smaller, you might be able to find the chain and the stone by sifting.  Can you go to the Canadian tax office and find out who built the old log home and when?

Here is what I would do.

With a Q tip, place a drop of Selsun Blue Shampoo on it.

If it contains a significant amount of silver, that spot will turn a cool Cobalt Blue.  Sulfide the Serface!

The Process can be reversed by placing the peace in Baking Soda solution on Aluminum Foil.   The Mark will Disappear before your eyes.

From what I see it could be silver.   Some Place in that mix is a number .925 !!!!
