Small elongated and spotted but how small are they? Did you find them on the ground or in a tree? if you found them on the ground you probably should have left them there as some species of birds nest on the ground. We have them here and they have proven to be very brave little birds that will dive at you to protect their nests.

Hi Xavier,
I,d found the eggs on the ground Weatacre, the farmer was plowing that fiels and those eggs would certenly be destroit if i did,n take them, that,s for sure.
There were no birds showing when i was there.

Easter comes to mind?Huh? Not sure about your territory but here there Killdeer. Killdeer birds lay there eggs in the gravel or grass, (fields) and will fight to the end to protect... Google killdeer eggs....

LOL!  Theres about 3 Billion birds on the ground and in the skies.

But sense you said you found them on the gound, We can assume there Ground nesting birds.

Here in New Mexico, seeing the Conical ended egg (So Not to Roll Around on the Ground)  I'm thinking there Quail eggs.

Put em in a Hot Box for 21 days 76f.  Moist Paper under side.

Roll them ever day twice.

I have blown the yolk out and baked it to scrabled eggs, they where delisious :Smiley
Have found the name of those birds who layd those eggs: the black spotted ones were KIEVIT, and the brown ones are from WULP.

The KIEVIT is the one that we have here. If you feed them bread crumbs on a daily basis they will come and eat out of your hand after two or three months. These pictures were taken from one that is "tame" that is why I could get so close to it.
