That’s a very good picture but I wouldn’t have a clue to what it is.  Undecided

Thanks for the improved pictures. Assuming you round it in the US, you have an oddity there. I believe it is a Sumerian coin - an ancient coin. Most likely a collector dropped it or a souvenir was lost. The coin would have some exciting tales to tell if it could only talk.

Nice find. I look forward to some real experts showing up. The European guys have more experience at ancient coins.

Definitely going to want our European brethren to look at it.   But at this point, I'm betting it's either a copy of a medieval hammered coin OR its a piece manufactured as a prop for some sort of movie/entertainment set.

i don't see a copy punch mark on it so it must be older i think here on the coast of north carolina a lady found a silver 1640 lion Daalder Colonial Coin that must have came off one of the wrecks, so there are some really old foreign coins on the east coast if you found it on the east coast great find btw  Smiley

Well the law that requires copys of coins and/or paper money to be marked was not made till the 70's by then millions of coins had been faked and sold to collectors or used in the jewelery trade.
