In the early/mid 70's, I had a Whites machine that was just about toy grade. It seems like it was just a white handle that looked like a transistor radio on an aluminum shaft with a small white coil.
Anyone remember the name of this one or have a pic of one?

Sounds like it was the Little Monster. Was it a BFO detector?

Not sure if it was a BFO model. You turned it on and it squealed like the Jetco Mustang. I would adjust it for a low threshold and start swingin.
