is it better to use a larger coil than a smaller one with this model due to the manual ground balance?

i haven't used my larger coil yet, have been using the 8", i guess i wasn't sure, i have to manually set my ground balance when i use mine.

Then you asked the wrong question. The answer, by the way, is that with MANUAL ground balance, adjustment is ALWAYS required no matter what coil or size of coil you use.
