I think the V3 is a great machine!
I found out how to restore all settings on the V3, to the original out-of-the-box settings!

Welcome aboard from Oz!

Looks like you're finding metal and that's the major thing. Yes, you need 15 posts to become a full member. It's not hard, just keep chatting away here and you'll get there soon enough. When you answer this, you will have two posts. Take your time, though. Flooding is frowned upon here and will get you a warning. Make your posts meaningful. By that, it's meant that you should read lots before you make a post. See what the forum is all about then use the old noggin to either contribute or ask legitimate questions. Above all, have fun.

I see you found an "aluminum nugget," or what might pass for one. Your picture Nov09y.jpg looks like a melted aluminum can from a campfire.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

the can deposit is a good thing, you dont find that much alu junk,It keeps the place clean, and your doing the right thing krueger removing it,I always remove the junk it makes detecting the same area again a lot more easy, and you will be suprised what you will find going over the same area again and again, plus you find deeper finds...mike

Did you see my pictures....?   There is an "alu" [sic] can in the photograph - that I dug up! It was eight inches down. I have only been at it for a little over a month so.... so I have not run across that many! In America, the only way they [buyers] want to see aluminum cans is by the trailer load full! Maybe in twenty years I would fill a trailer or truck 1/2 full! I have so many areas to hunt, that I seldom go over the same place again - not yet anyway! Thanks for your input - as I asked in my thread - do you have a Spectra V3?

The V3 has excellent depth. Its reponse time is a bit slow and the target ID is good - while not better than on a DFX in my oppinion. It is a top of the line machine for sure.

Regards,

Christian
