I charged up my NiMH battery and watched it go from 11.6 approximately to 8.7 in less than half an hour. Every other time I've been out the battery has never been a problem. What might be the problem?

NiMH batteries self discharge.   How old are they?

I bought a spectra V3i on May 27, 2011 so the battery is slightly over 2 months old.

I would try it out and see how long it lasts you should 8 to 12 hours from your batteries depending the amount
of targets that you hit, what you need to do is run it until the machine wont work then put it on charge over night
and if that dont work and the machine is fairly new then  take the battery back to your dealer or Phone Whites HQ
and I know they will sort it for you, and ask for Todd,

hope this helps,

AU

Are the batteries removable? If so, read each cell and see which one discharges furthest. Either ask White's to replace it or buy a replacement for the one that is lowest.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

What I'm going to do is run the battery dead and recharge it completely. Then I'll give it another try and see what happens. I contacted the spot where I purchased my Spectra V3I from and they suggested the same thing. If worse comes to worse I can always contact White's.

After a 12 hour charge and subsequent use today for around 65 minutes I went from 11.25 to no battery life at all. I then used my rechargeable AA's that had a 10.97 charge used this pack approximately the same time and still had 10.51 reading. When I removed my NiMH battery this morning out of the charger I placed it back in to see what would happen and the charging light came back on. Tomorrow I will contact Todd with this problem.

Thanks for your note and the name at White's.

G Day Mate, one thing I forgot to mention is rechargable batteries usually take up to about 10 Charges to reach their
maximum capacity but after 5 or 6 charges you start to notice the differance,
The battery life on those should be 10 to 12 hours according to Whites web site, any way keep us in the loop
I'm sure Todd will have all the right ansewers, coz I phoned him once or twice maybe more and he always come good
for me, so good luck and take care.
