Welcome from NM.     Not being a White guy, I don't know.

You should have a look in the White's Section and see what folks say? Cool

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Scotty, they both work well on the beach but the 950/9.5 will be less effected by the salt coz its smaller and lots better in junk too, quite a few guys do well with the 12" coil but one that a lot favor is the 2D coil from the v3i but as for extreme depth I still believe the 12" concentric is the beast, just try them both and see which one allows you to turn up the power the most without loosing signal quality from he targets, but one thing to remember is that you have not said how hot the beach mineral wise that is, ie black sand sect.

Hope this helps. Au

I would use the 950 coil, same reasons as above and plus it is lighter than the 12inch.

I really don't want to stand out like the bad guy, but how about an introduction you know the kind of thing you would do if you were to step in someones house for the fist time. Make things so much better.

For the beach go with either the 12 or 2D so you can make greater sweeps and cover more ground, beaches are usually less trashy then parks where you want the smaller coils because of the trash.  However the 9.5 will work fine on the beach also you just cant cover as much ground as fast and you need to overlap your search sweeps to be most effective
