Go Up Go Down

My primary detector is a Whites DFX.  It has been sitting in the garage for at least a year and a half.  I tried to charge my NiCad - No go.  Not a surprise.  So I loaded 8 fresh AAs to my Battery Holder and it will not boot up.   Shocked

Does any one know if there is any other option besides sending in to Whites for repair?  Possibly an on-board battery I need to replace?  I've really got the itch again and don't have the cash available for the new super-duper DFX.  Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Best bet is to send it in to WHite's and NOT to mess with it your self. White's has the best customer service, they will hook you up.

Try holding the ON button down for more than 3 seconds. Then try holding the ON button and other faceplate buttons on together for 3 seconds. One of them will most likely do a factory reset for you and clear things up. I'd also consider giving White's a phone call to ask for help. They're nice folks over there in Sweet Home.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
