Go Up Go Down

I picked up my Spectra V3i on Friday and spent a good part of the evening reading the manual and watching the DVD that came with the unit. Today Saturday I took it for a test run in my backyard. I never new just how much garbage is in the backyard. This is quite a change from my old machine a White's Prizm III. I'm still going to run the Spectra on factory setting but I don't think it will be too long before I start changing a few settings. But I'm not going to do that till after I search a few areas in the country. If anyone running a spectra V3i has a few suggestions for tweaking the coin and jewelry search mode I'd appreciate it.

The stock coil doesn't seem too bad, but I'm not entirely sold on just using this coil. I'd like to get another coil but I'm not sure as to which one to get. I'm picking up so many reading when I use the stock coil and this tends to get confusing.

In our group called the ringfinders (it's a global directory of detector guys), there are a few guys with both v3i and the e-trac.  I hear their banter just up until my head goes under the water lol Then I'm on my own.. nice and quiet!..and plenty to find!

Where can I see some of this banter? I might pick up a few tips. Tonight was nothing but bottle caps and one penny.
