I'm getting used to my Whites  , I remember reading that you and your machine start to speak to one another . I'm starting to understand that . My question is , does the depth indicator really work ? Am I just not using it right , I scan over the target and at times it says its 12 inches deep , but when I dig it's a few inches down ! Also , when I pinpoint , it seems as if my target is higher than I dig , someone please help

Every detector is different, and this is the learning curve that goes along with it. In different soils and moisture of the soil will read different. The other day i hunted a park that had just been watered and everything was showing 6" deep even though some things were one to two inches below the surface, so the same way with pinpointing, learn where your detector points and dig high if thats where the target is.

Good luck and keep practicing soon you will have it down.

Your detector will only be accurate on coins as the machine is calibrated toward coins.  Also keep in mind the distance the coil is held over the ground will be added to the coin depth. If a coin is 5 inches in the ground and your coil is 1 inch off the ground the detector would read 6 inch. I do think moisture in the ground does have some affect, but not much.  These are some of he reasons of un accurate target reading. HH Cal
