I picked up an old '68 Glodmaster and cannot identify the model. It has mostly transistors, but it does have two tubes and runs off the 67 volt battery. I've attached pictures. it has what I believe is the volume control in the front next to the Coil plug in.
I've attached pictures.
hope someone can identify it.

thanks

Hi,
I reckon that's pre 1968 as whites were using all solid state by that time.
It's probably a good few years earlier!
It's probably worth emailing whites "support" with a couple of photos, I'm sure they will be able to tell you.
Also, someone used to make a converter using a single 9v battery to give 70 volts or so for tube HT. They were fairly popular at one time for powering "portable" tube radios.
I'll see what I can find out.....

I agree with you. whites seem to be making all solid state by 1968, but the tag reads p. 68 for the year.
I'll try whites support and see what they say, and if you can find anything about the converter, please let me know. Its easier than wiring 7 9 volts together.

I'm sure the units are out there somewhere and possibly kits.
Some of the Ham radio guys on this site could likely as not point you in the right direction.

Thanks
I like the first one the best. It might be hard to find the components. I think by brother can build it for me. I'll have to ask him.
But first, i think I might take a trip to the dollar store, but eight cheap 9 volts, and take a trip to radioshack and buy some connector. They may not fit in the box (Haven't bothered to check yet) but they should tell me if the unit is working or not.
I did send an email to whites; waiting for a reply.

The 67 volt battery is the B+ (or plate voltage) for the tubes. The batteries lasted quite a long time as the current draw on the plate circuit is low. Anything printed on the tubes?

Eugene... I don't see the B+ battery in that manual. Only shows the Whites old dual AA packs...which would not operate a tube job.
