Go Up Go Down

I am going to purchase two metal detectors in the near future. I am seriously looking at Whites TM808 and their Sierra Madre. My detecting usually involves large objects and some depth. Less than 25 feet. My last find (by accident a tree root brought up 7.2 ounce chunk of gold ore) was only down about 5 feet. Does anyone have any thoughts on the two MD's mentioned. Also could someone explain "hot rock" please. thanx

I would'nt go with the sierra madre, if i were you i would be looking at the whites TDI or the TDI Pro
because it will give you very good depth and it will work in any ground conditions and as a bonus
there are Dozens if coils from whites, Coiltek, Nugget Finder and Minelab that will fit it, also they
can be Discriminate items and you will get one for $3500 less than one of the Minelab GPX series,
and if it is there it will find what your looking for, hope this helps

thanx ridge runner
without input from people like yourself I would probably have to go through some expense and trial and error. I was making a guess from the specs I've read. This is great to have your and others experience to tap into.

G Day, With the TDI using the standard coil on a coke can size target you will be digging down over a meter/40"
and with a larger coil you will double that depth, The 808 is a great piece of kit but i would only buy that machine
when you discover when you need it because although it is not expensive it still alot of money to have sitting
around waiting to be used,
