Go Up Go Down

Good day all, having some issues on the beach. My detector is working great inland but is unstable and at times overloads on the beach. I have tried the stock and settings from the fox and nothing seems to be curing the problem. I have changed the rx and sensitivity settings and the ground filter any suggestions would be appreciated.

G'day,  Well Fox is The Man to ask about such things, Great Bloke.

As for your Machine, Does it do it when you get to coil wet, Because the Locking Gland Nut where the cable goes in to it might not be tight enough and water could be getting in,,

Have you tried another Coil ?? also does it do it just at one place on the beach or does it do it anywhere on the Beach,  You have to ground balance when you are coming from the dry sand to the wet areas,

Other than that You might have to send it in for A Tune Up, They do have A Fantastic Service Department.

Has fox given you any Ideas what could be causing it ??

Maybe you should try doing a Factory Re Set and see if that fixes the Problem

Let us know how it works out, Ok,    Good Luck

I have not got the coil wet at this point. Having trouble at times in wet sand. I have used two different coils, the stock 950 and the ultimate dd. I have ran the rx down to 3 and up to around 16. no change. ran sensitivity up and down no change. off the beach detector works great.

Right well If Both Coils are doing it then the problem Is In the control Box, For the Beach the 950 coil will be the best coil,

Give white a call and they will be Hot On The Case, I Guarantee that.

Have you tried it at another beach Because One of our local Beaches they Bring in sand and Gravel etc to build it up after the storms, But there again you could have some Big Iron sewer pipes or Black Sand under the surface,

Just an Idea why don't you take it back to the Beach and Dig where it starts to sound off and see it there is any Iron or Black sand or serpentine under the surface,

Sometimes Serpentine wont allow a detector to get within 2 Feet of the ground,,,  So Give that a try before you send it off, There could also be disused old Power/Phone cables under there to, They make detectors do silly things,

Anyways Give that A go and let me know how you get On, ok.

Good Luck.

I called Whites yesterday, I was disappointed with no call back. I the past I have had great service. I left a message for Todd Marshall.
Our beach has a crap load of black sand in spots. one thing I cant remember if I had my cell phone on the days I had instability. I will be going back to the beach in the morning and try to work out the issue again. I am hoping that Todd will call before I head out.

I am Sure he will, Todd even Called Me Over Here One Day and they will stand by you,

That Black sand does upset a lot of Detectors, Apart from PI's The Only One's I know that Do Ignore it Are The MXT and The GMT, But Saying that They Were made for the soul Purpose of Finding Gold In Black Sand Country,

Volcanic areas are A Killer On Most Machines, It seems Like that Beach Is your Problem Not your Machine,

Good Luck, HH.

Some times Turning Down the Sensitivity can help.

Yeah he tried that, On the Vx3 and the V3i they Re Labelled The Gain to RX, He has Tried it at 3 To 16 and it makes no Difference  So I am Thinking it is The Black Sand Over Loading It.

Whites had me do a factory restore yesterday. Have not had a chance to hit the beach but I did pull a silver ring out of the ball field today.

Sweet, I thought you would have to do a re set,  I don't know why some machines require it but a lot of later designed Machines Have that Feature, well it sounds like its running real good now, Now you just need to Take surfing and see how it does on the same Beach, Good Luck, let us know how that goes,

That's why I hate Computers, Last week I had to replace my hard drive because the Lap top said It was Failing yet it still worked Huh? and at the same time My Tablet had to have a factory re set and I lost a lot of Info.

I guess these are A sign of the times as all this high tech stuff moves forward, Factory re set will become house hold words like Coffee Milk and Tea, etc
