would give depth comparable to a Fisher 1266x. I'm sure most of them would be quieter and that is what I am looking to improve on. But I don't really want to give up the potential of finding older deeper coins. Many years ago, I had a 5000 series 11 and always kind of missed it. And naturally, I don't want to go higher in the White's line than I really need to because I don't want to overspend for my needs. I like the "looks" of the 5G and the 6T but I don't have any idea how they match performance with the 1266x. Thanks.

The MXT is your best bet but the 6t or m6 is about the same.The mxt is about the deepest whites has out if you want more ID on a machine then price up to a v3i,but just for coins and relic hunting the mxt will work for you fine. Had a few 1266's but just too noisy for todays detectors.

I would go with the MXT Pro because it has a option to use tones if you like. The 6t is a nice detector, but don't get it confused with the other prizm model as it has much faster response to targets. The big problem with the 6t is it is way too sensitive around metal structures. I trade mine in on a new M6 and have been much more please. Plus with the MXT,MXT Pro, and M6 you have lots more coil choices. CG
