I;m not really sure, but for $179 how good can it really be? I guess the old adage, "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. I'm sure BA OR Seldom would have a better idea

White's Coinmaster

Go Up Go Down

I just bought a Coinmaster last week because it was the only model within my current budget and I really want to get out there and start. After reading user reviews on all the popular brands, it looked to me like Whites is among the best. Not much field time logged yet with my Coinmaster but I'll report as I get experience with it. It seems to be very simple to operate so far. It's my 1st detector so I don't have anything to rate it against yet.

I just picked up one on an eBay deal. I am impressed. Very easy for a newbie to learn and the lil rascal has some horsepower! The discriminator seems fairly accurate. The sensitivity adjustment allows you to run it at optimum gain (keeps it stable). Pinpoints fine. Seems like a nice well built and designed detector. I would call it a darn nice entry level detector, and your getting a lot of bang for the buck. Did I say it really finds stuff also !! Smiley

I bough my 1st detector today the coinmaster and spent about 3 hours with it, in a youth baseball park.

I found about 6 fence ties, 1 pulltab, 1 cap, lots of old aluminum can pieces(the field maintenance needs to quit cutting cans up with the mower), old positive battery post, another piece of metal, a pendant(may be silver/pewter) very soft metal),costume ear ring,.

I got some exercise and had fun. Im saving all the great finds for tomorrow. Detecting

Sounds like its doing a good job. Whites are the only machines Ive ever owned. I imagine thry are like any other detector. They have their ups and downs, Owner preference. I have heard nothing but good about the Garrett ace machines. The price is good on both machines.

I think the reason I didnt find any coinage is because the people in this community are tight.
As soon as they drop a penny they will catch it before it hits the ground. Smiley

Well, let's see...two platinum rings, a Cartier watch, more coins than we can count...yea, I'd say it's a good machine. Did I mention the 18K gold/.950 Platinum wedding band?

Don't judge a machine by it's price. It's a Whites.
