I am hoping my choice of this machine (mostly for beach hunting) was a good choice. Any feed back appreciated.

If you take the time to learn the machine, you should be very pleased with your purchase.  White's makes good machines.

First, let me say welcome aboard from Australia.

Second, I can't help it but when I see White's DFX, I think "White's Defects." But, I jest. Like BA says, White's machines are top notch.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm making my way thru the downloadable field test on this forum by Chris. Seems quite thorough. Also there's a local dealer offering an hour long "lesson" for $100. What you you folks think of that offer?
I also hope to corner the patient of mine that inflicted me with the gold bug (lol) --he's got an MXT and has years of prospecting experience behind him. Detecting

Personally I think the best way to learn is: do it yourself! Get you a manual, follow directions and have fun; that's also a lot cheaper than $100.

I'm hoping that I made the right choice also.  Bought the DFX 300 1st week of Jan. 2011 haven't had a day warm or dry enough to go outside.
