Whats the best settings to use with the mxt,i live in md.Huh?Huh?Huh??

what are some good settings for mxt300,i have been metal detecting for a year and a half, only problem suffered head injury back in 2003 that has made it hard to read the jeff foster book .cant remember what i read.its frustrating at times.i live in md and have been finding a few things nothing great do to not able to figure out what im doing wrong.sent machine to whites 3 months ago they tuned it up and everything fine.im sure i have missed alot of nice things, would like to find rings.this might sound dumb but do to the the accident had to have anterior disc fusion in june that required 2 disc to be removed and replaced with 2 cadaver disc with screws and a titanium plate. .had the 12inch coil downgrageded to sef 8x6,easier on neck.a freind of mine said maybe that could interfere with some of the readings i get because of my neck with the plate ? dont know how though.my house was built in 1900 and the civil war played a small role close by.brunswick md.i have found a few civil war items a harmonica reed and bullet but nothing else,so if any one knows a few setting it would be helpful . love detecting .found lots of junk...
