I strongly recommend upgrading to the 9.5 Whites Blue Max coil, and updating the software to Eagle II spec. The 9.5 will give you noticeably better depth all round.

good machine very reliable I use lead acid batteries with my one which was a spectrum it makes the control box so much lighter and you can work longer with it  that way.  the battery I used to use is a 3-fm=4 6v 4ah/20 hr worn on a belt it takes a lot of weight off of the wrist.  charged up overnight you can be sure of a good days searching with it I always had an emergency spare as well

I just gave my son my old Eagle II. I have used it for a lot of years and it is still a good machine. I know he will enjoy it. I am waiting on the v3i that I just ordered. Got ants in my pants...I need it now!!!
