Hi,

I'm new to metal detecting but am looking at purchasing a used White's IDX Pro.  I'm also looking at getting the Mr. Bill Mod.  Would appreciate your input.  Thanks.

Welcome to our forum! Well, White's is a quality brand and good for coinshooing. Did you have any other detector models on your wish list or what made you especially interested in the IDX Pro?

Best regards,

Christian

From what i have read, they are one of the best of the whites lines. Not all of the "bells and whistles" but a good deep and accurate machine.

I've also been thinking about buying a used idx pro - any other opinions about this machine?  Are the mods worth the expense to someone new in the hobby?  Would this machine be acceptable for hunting small gold nuggets?  Thanks!  ~Chris

Any of the Classic's...ID, IDX or IDX Pro with Mr.Bill's mods, are fantastic......They are older tech but are great on ID and go even deeper with these mods..... Great Great

Great I own one and it has worked flawlessly for me, nice deep scan, light weight, very simple operation, long battery life, tough, I would recommend it !!
It would work ok with the stock coil but if you put a 8 inch on it you could shoot nuggets with the best of em !!

Anybody got an idea as to how much a used IDX is worth?

Based on recent e-bay sales, $280--$300.
