I have just come across this photo I took of the boiler of the Dunedin Star in 1969 while on a survey flight along the Namibian coast. On our return the boiler had vanished, covered by the shifting sands. Unfortunately the photo is not very good but the wreck can be seen in the foreground about a mile inland. I recommend the book Skeleton Coast by John Marsh for the history of the wreck and the incredible rescue.
