Go Up Go Down

Another lethal unexploded WW2 object.
Found on a farm in my home town about 3 inches deep. A Hispano grenade, I have been told it was one of the most deadly grenades of the war. Now in the hands of the proper authorities

Hi Peter, Thanks for your input, what kind of things do you hunt for down there in Africa and what things could be found if you was interested?

Nice "bomb", its in very good shape, maybe you can buy the weapon that shots that kind of things and have some fun  Grin
You've done great in give it to the authorities. Maybe they keep it to some kind of museum.  Wink

See ya. Stay cool.

Hopefully this was disarmed and then given to a museum, that is what should happen. The firearms I have found in the Ardennes are now in one of Bostagna's museums, where they belong in my opinion.
thanks for your interest, Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply.... My main area of research and looking with the detector is at old Boer war sites. I have found lots of used bullet cases, some not shot off yet, horse shoes, a tool for removing stones from a horses hoof, bottle stopper (glass), back of a pocket watch.... and other odds and ends. My best find though was a 1893 gold Kruger pound.
My main reason for going out in the first place was for exercise, as I had had heart problems... but this is now in the past, and has turned into a hobby.
Things are not always so safe anymore here..... To go into an area which there are not people around, is asking for some problems.... so I am at this time looking for a partner to hunt with, until then, I am busy with research looking for the best sites in the area.

God bless
Peter

I don,t think that,s a grenade either.Looks like a projectile, notice the driving band. You don,t give any size reference but if it,s as big as I think it is you,d have a hard time throwing that.
