hi elizabeth... that's just a guess though, if that's real, usually V means a tunnel and if the stones were arranged in triangular form may mean 3 location of loads. if you have started excavating the right spot, you should encounter other signs as you go deeper, otherwise its nothing. If the white crystalline-like flooring (not so thick) is not common in the area, then it must have been placed there and thats good.. Do you have any idea of the history of that place? you should research on it, otherwise you might just be wasting your time. Is this in the Philippines? These are just my guess, unless of course i have a visual of the site. Do you have a photo of what you described here? just my guess.

we got stumped here...am a newbie and the diggers are just the landowner and his sons...the area is part of land inherited from the father of the owner (he wore a g-string), and the area is not passable, except for a small creek, pathways had to be made along the mountain side (made of hard rock (fossilized coral?) where i passed through to get to the area...history is that the Japanese came to retreat to these mountains when the americans landed on the island...this part of the province is mostly mountains and rivers and creeks...we already found the entrance (between the creek and the foot of t he mountain... and this is the end of the tunnel where we stopped coz we didn't know what to do next...it may be small unlike what other th are doing..following maps of huge amounts (tons)...coz all we did was remove clayish soil from the tunnel whose walls were all natural rock...we found other markers, too...

well then, that's great info. so you mean, the lines and stones that you described here is found inside the tunnel? i hope i can see how it was arranged. you might be infront of the closed part of the tunnel. have you removed the white crystalline floor and dug under it?  just a suggestion, if this is a japanese tunnel, they usually have more than one access. usually 2 entrance/exit and 1 exhaust ussually going up, it could be different, but that's what i noticed in my experience. why don't you explore the surrounding area, you might notice something not ordinary. If this is in mindanao, this might be deep.

what do you expect first, if your project is on the old well?
I mean what common symbols we might encounter first... just to make sure that  we are on the right track.
