okay sir seldom, i want to ask a serious question this time.

i am ignorant in terms of metal detecting. i don't understand fully how electronic gadgets like EXP 5000 works. can you interpret what does the picture below means. that is from EXP5000 scanner.

second question, is it possible that electronic gadget like EXP 5000 are not consistent in its scanning result in one surface after maybe 2 weeks or a month of scanning interval with the same area.

third question, how accurate is the result of an EXP 5000 and what are the pros and cons of using this gadget.

hope i will get an answer to this seriously.

Thanks!

Seriously speaking I personally would not recomend using any OKM product. Do a search on geotech1.com or just about any other forum to find out more about the nature of their products ...

OKM describes their "GPR" antennas by:

#  1 GPR-antenna ( 100cm )
# 1 GPR-antenna ( 25cm )
# 1 GPR-antenna ( 50cm )
# 1 GPR-antenna ( 75cm )

However, I doubt very much this is what any geophysicits would have defined as a GPR. What you see is not a GPR but a Magnetometer. You do not define GPR antennas by length (cm) but MHZ instead.

I do not know the very settings you have used but it is most possibly a ferrous object you see in the picture.

Thank you,

Christian

PS: Regarding the discussion on the Yamashita treasure:

This forum is meant to discuss freely anything related to the Yamashita treasure. However this will also mean that people are allowed to question its existence.

As I said many times before, I believe that WWII treasures exist in the Philippines in terms of looot / caches. Hence I also believe in the chance of finding smaller collections of gold bars etc.

HOwever I do not believe that anybody ever buried any treasure at 10 meters or more. Also I do not believe that there are that many tresasure sites as we read about and I know that it makes absolutely no sense to search for them employing Long Range Locators of any kind.

Sir christian/seldom,

thanks for the comment.

the above picture is the result of our first run scanning. we run the probe 5 times and the result is very consistent. so we dug 2 meters deep and do the scanning again. we run the probe 3 times but it seems the result is no longer the same though we still see a ferrous  object  but this time, scattered in 3 groups and not as solid as the first scanning. i notice though that during our last scanning, the sky is very cloudy and its foggy.

after the second scanning, we stop digging because the data is no longer solid as the first try. our dug-hole is within the perimeter of various stone markers and the place was once a japanese military camp during world war II.

Sir christian, do you think it is worth to continue our digging even the data on the last scanning is not consistent with the first run? the first scanner data tells us that the deep is at 8 meters.

Hello,

the weather should not have any effect on your survey results. By digging and rescanning you may altr the very magnet earth field in this area hence your results may differ. This is within the limits. You only should wonder if the whol signal suddenly disappears.

At what depth are you right now?

Regards

2 meters deep only when we run the second scanning. then we stop because the rainfall this summer is is really a big problem and that we were hesitant to continue the digging when we saw the result of the second scanning which is not consistent with the first.

Are they at the same depth and close to each other? You must also understand that by removing earth, it may reulst in giving you a better / more precise survey result. That is: While three objects may appear like one at great depth, you will not just get a more precise reading at less depth.

Best wishes,

Christian

i got you sir. i didn't bother to ask the operator of the EXP5000 on the depth of the target object on the second survey. i'll ask him soon. maybe its worth to continue the digging but not this rainy season. we will wait for another 7 months before we continue. the water underground is too strong specially that the area is along  the creek.

i hope i can get more advice on this matter.

thanks
