US law would not apply in the Philippines where the original poster is located.   However, these Federal Reserve Note certificates that keep popping up in the Philippines are major frauds and not worth the paper they are printed on.

In South Africa some students from Cape town university made a passport as a fund raiser, called it The republic of Cape Town, these passports could be had and still can at souvenir shops and if you like they will take a photo of you and put it in the passport for you. One clever guy decided to try and use it like a real passport, the funny thing is that it worked even though there was printed souvenir on it LOL

So many people in the US think that New Mexico (where Homefire lives) is a foreign country that New Mexico has had fake passports for as long as I can remember----and that's a long, long time.

And the great state of Texas has had Republic of Texas passports for a long time also.
