We are doing treasure hunting in Philippines, but come across very hard cement/rock, can anyone tell us how to deal with the hard cement, how to break it, any liquid or chemical solution can help & where to get it in Philippines?

[hello]THERE IS A CHEMICAL THAT WILL DO IT. BUT IT IS BAD GRADE U GET IN THE PHILIPPINES. TO USE IT U HAVE TO DRILL SEVERAL HOLES IN THE ROCK. THE BEST WAY IS ELBOW GREASE AND GOOD BIG PUNCH, AND A BIG MUSCLE. (HAMMER) MANY ROCKS OR CEMENT HAVE BEEN BROKEN. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL CEMENT BOXES AND THEY WERE BROKEN ON THE END. MAKE SURE U HAVE THE REAL THING. IF IT IS BIG ROCK GO AROUND IT. IT SAVES TIME.
REMEMBER IF IT IS THE REAL THING, THE JAPANESE HAVE TO BREAK IT ALSO. IT CAN BE DONE.

OK, mate, enough is enough. How is a photo of the area and of cement going to tell you how hard it is or how to break it? You are fishing around trying to find out where others are looking for treasure and that is met with a very dark look here on these forums. Don't ask for details here. Particularly don't ask in public.

kent you keep posting on threads that have been dead for months. If you would take the time to look you would see RLTA has not been active since April. I to think you need to stop asking for pictures of members sites treasure hunters are private folks and will post all the info they care to give in their first or second post. Your actions make me suspect you may be up to something.

It was a message that i had not answered. I am not asking for coordinates, st addresses , cities, provicenes. If he wants to take picture pointing straight down, no one can tell where the spot is. I am offering my help, I think that is why a lot of things are posted. if u and ur friend can tell where the spot is from the picture u are one up on me. thanks.

Kent, you can't tell how hard cement is or how to break it from a picture either. So please stop asking for pictures. It's bad form.

Yes this is an old post and many times in the past I've seen Pinoys asking how to break very hard cement. Initially I was tempted to refer them to avail of the services of the Cement Testing Center in Pasig city. But if they can't break it, they will have no samples to send for testing.

My 2 centavos worth:
put on eye protection, gloves and workboots, grab a sledgehammer and bash away at the cement till you get a few sample chunks. I'm assuming the interested parties are not adverse to some manual labor.

Mail the samples to the CTC (website:

) and ask them to analyze if the stuff really IS cement, and how to best break it. You'll have to pay some fees for the CTC's work.

Very good advice Hobbyist. The only other thing I would suggest is to try enhanced thermite wands and Bristar to crack it before jackhammering or cutting with a carbide or diamond saw blade or drill bit. Your suggestion is probably better and easier and more cost effective.
